Description

When trying to install Windows 11* OS on a new system, but the OS is unable to locate an internet connection (wired or wireless) during setup. Windows 11* requires this. How can I install the OS?


Resolution

During the installation of Windows 11* OS you will notice that an internet connection is required to continue.


To overcome this and be able to continue with the installation, do the following:

  1. Press Shift+F10 to open the command prompt (on some laptops you may need to press Shift+Fn+F10)
  2. After the prompt appears, you may need to click with your mouse in the window to type text.
  3. Type oobe\bypassnro
  4. Press Enter. The system will reboot and start the setup process again.
  5. Re-select the appropriate selections for regions and keyboards
  6. Now, on the Connect to a network screen you will have an additional option, click I don't have Internet
  7. On the next screen, click Continue with limited setup
  8. Continue with the installation steps to complete the installation of the operating system.
